"Therefore, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord." 1 Cor. 15:58
What a motto for life! May I be steadfast--meaning loyal or unwavering--in my personal walk with the Lord. May I be steadfast in my sharing the gospel with strangers and unbelievers. May I be steadfast in discipling new believers or the spiritual young. May I be steadfast in prayer. May I be steadfast in fasting. May I be steadfast in serving and submitting to my husband. May I be steadfast in laying down my life for my friends.
Each day our mercies from the Lord are new (Lam. 3:22-23) to abound in whatever task he lays before us. We do not do this to earn salvation, for we know it is by grace through faith in which we are saved and nothing in which we ourselves do (Eph. 2:8-9). BUT, we have hope! Our labor is not in vain, and one day when we see our Almighty God face to face, he will rejoice over us. It will all be worth it. Be steadfast, children of God.
